FeatherCue

What's new

Every change to FeatherCue, newest first. App versions come through the App Store and Google Play. Updates arrive on their own the next time you open the app, with no download from the store.

4 app versions and 12 updates since August 2026.

  1. Update

    Android, versions 1.2.0 and later

    • A one-time note lets you know FeatherCue 1.3.0 is on Google Play.
  2. Update

iPhone and Android, versions 1.2.0 and later

    • Voice Scroll on iPhone no longer falls behind during long reads. Some older iPhones lagged after about ten minutes.
    • With large text, the line you are reading sits higher on the screen, so more of the script fits below it.
    • If a script cannot be saved, the editor stays open with your changes, and FeatherCue asks before discarding edits you have not saved.
    • FeatherCue keeps your place in a script after you flip it or change the text size.
    • Very large or damaged files can no longer freeze an import.
    • Clearer wording on the Pro screen, including what to do if a purchase is not confirmed.
  3. Update

    iPhone, versions 1.2.0 and 1.2.1

    • A one-time note lets you know FeatherCue 1.3.0 is on the App Store.
  4. Version 1.3.0

    Store release

iPhone: released October 28. Android: released November 4.

    • Share to FeatherCue: send a script straight from Google Docs, Notes, Files, Mail and other apps.
    • Import Word (.docx), RTF, OpenDocument (.odt) and screenplay files (Fountain and Final Draft), as well as TXT, Markdown and PDF.
    • The camera preview sits behind your script, so you can place it anywhere and still read every line.
    • Voice Scroll keeps going when you switch apps or connect headphones, and picks up where you left off.
    • A clearer Pro screen that shows what each feature does, and the price before you buy.
    • The Facebook (Meta) SDK is removed from the Android app too.
  5. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • Voice Scroll moves past section headers wrapped in three or more dashes and [[double-bracket notes]], so you never have to read them aloud.
    • The Pro screen and the new import formats (Word, RTF, OpenDocument, screenplay and subtitle files) reach earlier versions too.
  6. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • The camera preview sits behind the script instead of covering it.
    • Voice Scroll pauses when you leave the app and resumes when you come back, and recovers after a call, Siri or a microphone change.
  7. Update

    Android

    • If your phone's speech service is not allowed to use the microphone, Voice Scroll now says which app it is and opens Settings so you can fix it.
  8. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • Voice Scroll listens in your script's language instead of always in US English.
    • When Voice Scroll is not following, it tells you why: it cannot hear you, or what it hears does not match the script.
    • Without a connection, Voice Scroll switches to your phone's own speech recognition where the phone supports it.
  9. Version 1.2.1

    Store release

    iPhone

    • The Facebook (Meta) SDK is removed from the app. The download is smaller: 13.7 MB, down from 16.0 MB.
  10. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • FeatherCue no longer sends any app events to Meta (Facebook).
  11. Version 1.2.0

    Store release

    iPhone and Android

    • Voice Scroll stays with you word for word. It holds still while you ad-lib or pause, picks up when you are back on script, and follows you back when you restart a line.
    • Drag the script or tap a word to jump anywhere while Voice Scroll is listening. Notes between double dashes glide past at a pace you can read.
    • The line you are reading stays at the same height on screen, clear of the toolbar, in portrait and landscape.
    • Smoother scrolling: Auto Scroll and Voice Scroll move in step with the display, and long scripts no longer stutter.
    • Auto Scroll speed is a slider, adjustable while the script is moving.
    • A built-in guide shows you around. Read it aloud to try Voice Scroll free.
  12. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • Fixed scripts that could open blank after an earlier update saved an impossible reading position.
  13. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • Choose from three video sizes and four frame rates when recording.
    • The script stays readable over the camera in light mode.
    • Closing the camera no longer leaves the app looking grey.
    • Smoother Voice Scroll that no longer leaps ahead.
  14. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • Your reading position holds when you rotate the phone or flip the script.
    • Voice Scroll works correctly with the script flipped.
  15. Update

    iPhone and Android

    • Voice Scroll starts from wherever you scrolled to, not from the top.
    • Your place is kept when the text re-wraps after a rotation, mirror or flip.
    • Auto Scroll speeds retuned so every step is a usable reading pace.
    • Pro stays unlocked even when the store cannot be reached, such as offline.
  16. Version 1.1.8

    Store release

    iPhone and Android

    • Auto Scroll speed is measured in lines, so it reads the same at every text size, and the slowest setting is slow enough for a relaxed read.
    • The reading band is correct when the script is flipped.
    • Voice Scroll recovers better when it drifts, and no longer slows down on long reads.
